TOBIN, John

Source: Greencastle Evening Democrat 4 August 1896 p3

John Tobin of Crawfordsville well known here and who for a number of years was foreman of the north Monon section at this place but of late years has been employed at our neighboring town in the same capacity was run over and instantly killed between Crawfordsville Junction and the city limits last night by a freight train.  It seems that he had been on a protracted drunk and fell down on the track while going home and being in a stupor allowed No 73, south bound to pass over him. He was a married man and leaves quite a family. – kbz
